General Manager — Main Dealership, Cork

Location: Cork City

Remuneration: Executive package + performance bonus + company car

Start Monday is recruiting an experienced General Manager to lead a substantial main franchise dealership in Cork.

This is a senior leadership appointment with overall responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the dealership across new and used vehicle sales, aftersales, parts and customer experience.

The successful candidate will lead the management team, drive profitability across each department and ensure the dealership delivers consistently high standards for both customers and the manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full P&L responsibility for the dealership.

  • Lead the overall commercial and operational performance of the business.

  • Manage and support departmental leaders across Sales, Aftersales, Parts and Administration.

  • Deliver agreed revenue, profitability, volume and manufacturer targets.

  • Drive new and used vehicle performance.

  • Maximise workshop utilisation, aftersales profitability and customer retention.

  • Maintain strong manufacturer relationships and ensure franchise standards are achieved.

  • Develop and implement annual budgets and commercial plans.

  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance.

  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing dealership team.

  • Maintain excellent customer satisfaction and brand standards.

  • Build a strong, accountable and positive culture throughout the dealership.

Job requirements

This opportunity would suit an established Dealer Principal, General Manager, Head of Business or an experienced senior automotive manager ready to take overall responsibility for a dealership.

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership experience within the franchised motor industry.

  • A clear understanding of dealership financial and operational performance.

  • Commercial experience across sales and aftersales.

  • Strong people-management and team-development skills.

  • Experience working with manufacturer targets, standards and KPIs.

  • The ability to identify opportunities and translate them into improved commercial performance.

  • A customer-focused but highly commercial management style.
