HGV Workshop Manager

An established fleet operator in Dublin is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead maintenance operations for a busy commercial vehicle fleet. This role combines technical oversight with operational leadership to ensure high vehicle availability, strong compliance and efficient workshop performance.

The role

• Manage day-to-day operations of a commercial vehicle workshop

• Lead Technicians and oversee job allocation, workflow and productivity

• Implement preventative maintenance programmes to maximise fleet uptime

• Ensure all repairs meet safety, engineering and compliance standards

• Oversee diagnostics, complex repairs and technical problem solving

• Manage CVRT preparation and ensure compliance with RSA requirements

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection documentation

• Control parts usage, supplier relationships and workshop costs

• Work closely with operations teams to minimise vehicle downtime

• Manage urgent repairs and breakdown situations to restore fleet readiness

• Proven experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop or fleet maintenance operation

• Strong understanding of HGV systems, diagnostics and repair processes

• Demonstrated team leadership and workshop management experience

• Experience managing budgets, workshop costs and parts spend

• Ability to interpret operational performance and manage P&L or cost centre responsibility
