IT Systems Support Engineer

Job description

We are working with one of Ireland's leading vehicle distributors to hire an IT Systems Support Engineer. Working with this iconic automotive brand, you will be responsible for providing technical IT support within their Dublin HQ.

The Role:

  • Install, maintain and support all IT systems (virtual infrastructure, virtual machines, operating systems, end user devices, network infrastructure, applications used within the organisation)
  • Group Policy Management, Office 365 support, Server 2012/2019 support
  • Support of all communication tools in use (mail system, mobile devices, telephony)
  • Support & administer key technologies such as VMware, Server 2012, Active Directory, Exchange
  • Maintain security of all systems ensuring they conform to best practice
  • Liaise with suppliers in resolving issues
  • Ownership of support issues from call logging through to issue resolution and documentation
  • User administration on all systems
  • Support & maintenance of cabling and switching infrastructure
  • Telephone system support
  • System alerting and monitoring to ensure optimal reliability, stability and auditing
  • Monitoring of system backup processes and desktop/server security
  • Webserver administration and monitoring
  • Collaborate with IT team on enhancement of processes and procedures
  • Project work on implementation of new solutions
  • Maintain system and infrastructure documentation


  • Relevant third level IT degree  
  • Industry-certified professional qualifications, minimum MCSA level
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, with strong Sharepoint knowledge
  • Server 2012 - 2019
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure and networking protocols
  • Experience with VMware and Veeam


  • Firewalls/ Switch knowledge 
  • Linux skills
  • Additional certification qualifications (MCSE, CCNA)
  • SQL
  • Powershell
