Senior Legal & Compliance role within a leading automotive distributor. Reporting to the Managing Director and working with UK and European legal teams on governance, compliance and GDPR.

Job description

We are working with a leading automotive distributor in Ireland to appoint a Legal & Compliance Manager reporting to the Managing Director.

This role will support the organisation in managing legal, regulatory and data protection matters while helping ensure strong governance and compliance practices across the business.

The role

  • Lead the legal and compliance function for the Irish business, supporting the Managing Director and senior leadership team

  • Oversee the organisation’s legal, regulatory and compliance framework, ensuring alignment with European policies and standards

  • Provide guidance to the business on data protection, governance and regulatory obligations, with a strong focus on GDPR and data management

  • Act as a key point of contact for legal and compliance matters across the organisation

  • Draft, review and manage commercial agreements and legal documentation

  • Support the development and implementation of compliance policies, procedures and internal controls

  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams across the UK and Europe, ensuring alignment with regional initiatives

  • Liaise with external legal advisors where specialist support is required

  • Support and contribute to EU-level compliance and governance projects

  • Promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical business practice throughout the organisation

Job requirements

  • Qualification as a solicitor in Ireland or another common law jurisdiction, or relevant experience in a legal, compliance or regulatory role

  • Experience working in legal, compliance or data protection

  • Understanding of GDPR and Irish regulatory frameworks

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments

  • Automotive sector experience advantageous but not essential
