Operations Manager - Recycling Industry

Start Monday is recruiting an experienced Operations Manager for a large and established recycling business in Dublin.

This is a significant operational leadership position with responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a busy, high-volume operation, encompassing people, fleet, plant, logistics, health & safety and service delivery.

The Operations Manager will ensure the business operates safely, efficiently and commercially while maintaining consistently high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Dublin facility/business.

• Manage operational teams, supervisors and frontline employees.

• Ensure efficient deployment of people, vehicles, plant and equipment.

• Manage collection, processing and operational workflows.

• Drive productivity, efficiency and cost control across the operation.

• Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

• Manage fleet utilisation, maintenance planning and vehicle availability.

• Work closely with commercial, finance, HR and senior management teams.

• Develop workforce plans, shift structures and resource requirements.

• Manage third-party suppliers and contractors where required.

• Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions.

• Develop managers and supervisors and create a culture of accountability.

• Support future growth, investment and operational improvement projects.

We are looking for an experienced operational leader accustomed to managing large teams and complex, high-volume environments.

Experience may have been gained within recycling or waste management, although candidates from logistics, transport, manufacturing, distribution, facilities or similarly demanding operational environments would also be relevant.
