Job description
Technical Trainer – Automotive OEM
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading automotive OEM in a key Technical Trainer position.
This is an ideal role for an experienced automotive technical professional who enjoys developing people, delivering high-quality training and remaining close to the latest vehicle technologies.
Working directly with the manufacturer and its dealer network, you will play an important role in supporting technical capability across the brand, delivering structured training programmes and helping dealership technicians remain at the forefront of increasingly sophisticated vehicle technology.
The Role
You will be responsible for the delivery of technical training across the dealer network, covering areas including vehicle systems, diagnostics, new model launches, electrification and emerging automotive technologies.
You will work closely with both the manufacturer and dealership technical teams, helping to identify skills gaps and ensuring technicians have the knowledge and confidence required to deliver exceptional standards of diagnosis and repair.
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering engaging technical training to dealership technicians
Supporting new vehicle and technology launches
Developing and delivering technical training programmes
Coaching technicians across varying experience levels
Supporting diagnostic and technical capability within the dealer network
Working closely with aftersales, technical and training teams
Maintaining an excellent understanding of current and emerging vehicle technologies
The Opportunity
This represents a genuine opportunity to move away from the day-to-day pressures of workshop productivity while remaining at the forefront of automotive technology.
You will join a highly respected automotive organisation, work closely with a national dealer network and build a long-term career within the manufacturer environment.
Package: circa €70,000 plus performance-related bonus and associated benefits.
Job requirements
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Master Technicians, Technical Trainers, Diagnostic Technicians or senior automotive technical professionals who are ready to move into an OEM-level position.
You should have strong communication skills, excellent technical knowledge and the ability to engage confidently with technicians and dealership management teams.
Previous training experience would be beneficial, although an outstanding senior technician with the right personality and communication skills may also be considered.
