Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to oversee workflow, productivity and efficiency in their large workshop, ensuring all repairs and services meet the highest standards. This role involves key responsibilities in managing the workshop team, supporting Technicians, and delivering exceptional customer service.
The Role:
- Assign tasks based on skills and experience, supporting Technicians to meet repair standards and fostering a collaborative environment
- Oversee the workshop’s workflow, ensure adherence to health and safety standards, and optimise resource usage
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed, assist in resolving technical queries and ensure quality checks on all serviced vehicles
- Provide expertise for complex repairs, ensure effective use of diagnostic tools, and stay updated on industry trends
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, diagnostics and parts usage, and report on performance metrics
- Work with the parts Department to ensure timely availability of parts and manage stock levels as needed
Job requirements
- 2+ years experience as a Workshop Controller with a large franchise dealership
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair processes and warranty guidelines
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in workshop management systems and diagnostic tools
- Relevant Technician qualification
- Full clean driver's license
